Please join The Next Generation Swing Dance Club at the Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville for our monthly club dance on Saturday, June 2 from 6 PM until late. We look forward to seeing you there.
Our DJs are Samantha Buckwalter, Malia San Nichols, and
Dmitry Lapidus. The DJ mix is primarily West Coast Swing, but also contains a few songs for other social and swing dances. Our beginning lesson is being offered by Samantha Buckwalter and Malia San Nichols from 7 - 8 PM in the back room.
This month we will run preliminary round VIII of the "
Luck of the Draw" contest series. Couples placing 1 though 5 will qualify for the finals in August. Winners of the finals win tickets to
Boogie by the Bay 2012.
We recommend that you sign-up for the contest by 8:00. At that time, we start working to get an even number of leaders and followers. You may still sign-up between 8:00 and 8:15, but your name may on a "waiting list" if the balance of leaders and follower is uneven at 8:00. Also, please remember that you must sign in yourself.
$7 member / $12 non-member / $5 student Entrance fee includes the lesson and dance. These prices are in effect until 9 PM when the
Allegro Ballroom admission prices take effect.
REMINDER: We are now checking membership cards at the door. We want to make dances more secure and ensure that current members receive the dance discount membership benefit. So make sure to bring your card with you to speed up the process at the register!
The address of the
Allegro Ballroom is 5855 Christie Avenue, Emeryville, and is conveniently located off of I-80 next to the Powell Street exit (just past the IKEA and Trader Joe's). Coming from I-80, take the Powell Street exit headed East, turn left on Christie Avenue just past the Denny's, and turn left into the parking lot at the last entrance in front of the strip of buildings. The Allegro is to the back of the strip.
